Low Voltage Design
Once the requirements for a low voltage project are established, along with a budget and timeline, the design phase begins. This is a critical part of any project, requiring coordination with the customer, architects, as well as electrical, mechanical and structural engineers. Building and client standards must be applied with rigorous attention to planning details. The end result is a full set of design drawings and technical specifications as they apply to your low voltage systems.
For the design phase, KMM offers:
- On-site field verification of existing conditions and systems,
- Determination of structural requirements for mounting hardware, wiring and other components,
- Development of multi-system Head Ends Panels, with plans showing both existing and proposed new layouts,
- Design of equipment and rack details based on extensive field and project experience,
- Coordinating floor plans with all affected trades and disciplines (architectural, civil, electrical, mechanical and structural),
- Digital images to clarify and supplement design specifications,
- Bid ready purchasing and technical specifications,
- Approval of drawings first and foremost from the customer, and then also with the AHJ (Authority Having Jurisdiction) – State (DSA) / Fire Marshal / other public entities,
- Record set drawing updates and project documentation, independent of designs (Master record sets) or as part of design services offered.
